Passenger Complaint: Cunard Line Customer Review September 15, 2017 – “We booked the return transatlantic crossing to New York and Halifax Nova Scotia this year on QE2 for 15 nights. My wife and I are very keen Sequence dancers, but were very disappointed with the amount of time [5 hours] we were allowed on the dance floor for this type of dance, to what was allowed for Ballroom and Latin [54 hours] I complained to the Social Host about the excessive difference between the two types of dance, bearing in mind that when sequence dancing was allowed the dance floor was full. His response was and I quote-” What you have to understand this is an International ship and the Americans do not know how to sequence dance” On the outward journey there was twice as many British people on the ship against the number of Americans!! So it seemed the British were treated as second class guests were dancing was concerned. Also the price of wine in the dining room was outrageous, and then an added surcharge, even drinks in the bars, soft drinks and tea and coffee had a surcharge added. I complained again on the satisfaction survey and informed that they would contact the Entertainment Directors at head office to see if anything could be done. A month later I received a reply saying that if I booked another cruise to contact the Entertainment Director on board the ship to see if more time could be allowed for Sequence dancing. So I would have to pay the fare, board the ship and then try to get more time allowed !! Do they honestly think I would be so stupid as to pay up front and then not be able to resolve the question of time on the dance floor. Never Again.”
