Passenger Complaint: Uniworld Boutique River Cruises Review April 30, 2018 – “The cruise manager, Martin, was uninformed and, quite frankly, a liability for Uniworld. He raved about the shopping in our next stop and when we arrived there it was a holiday and everything was closed. He should have known that ahead of time. Another day he told a group of people to wait in the lounge for their excursion and then went off and left them behind. He said he was accompanying us on a tour and then never showed up. Things were never as he described them and it got to the point where several of us didn’t believe anything he said. Eg. “It will be a very easy walk” – there were flights of stairs. While working he was usually at the bar drinking. I’ve never seen an environment where an employee can drink on the job. When giving the daily port talk he always had a beer hidden at the end of the bar. He seemed to be most interested in wine tasting opportunities and beer drinking options. Valintin Gradescu was wonderful as a fill-in house manager. He stepped up and handled problems and was kind and thoughtful to all of the passengers.”
