Norwegian Cruise Line BBB Review April 24, 2018

Passenger Complaint: Norwegian Cruise Line BBB Review April 24, 2018 – “Norwegian Cruise Line ~ NCL: Negligence, Cons, Lies ~ That’s the new acronym for Norwegian Cruise Line. After 61 days, sending two certified letter to President/CEO ***** *** **** ****** ********* Coordinator for Guest Relations, contacted us and offered us a cruise credit on our next NCL trip. She said, and I quote, “You can be certain that every point rose in all your correspondences has been carefully noted and forwarded to the various departments involved for their review and for corrective actions, as necessary.” Well, that’s no at all true. Ms. ******** goes on to say, and I quote, “As a gesture of goodwill, cheese plate with a bottle of wine was delivered to your stateroom, dinner in Ocean Blue restaurant for your enjoyment and complimentary Medical services were extended. No, a bottle of wine and a cheese plate were not delivered, only a bottle of sparkling wine at the beginning of the cruise. Yes, I received complimentary medical services for an illness caused by NCL’s negligence; however, when I arrived at the medical office, the staff knew nothing of our situation. Only after jumping through hoops, telling the medical staff numerous times that we will not pay for the services as per the assistant hotel director’s promise, did I receive medical care. I had to sign a statement on page after page that I should not be charged for the service. As far as a complimentary dinner at Ocean Blue is concerned, those arrangements were never made by the assistant hotel director, so we did not eat at that venue a second time. ***** and I ate there initially; however, you are about to hear what occurred referencing a very deceptive practice that evening. There is an upcharge for this dining venue to the tune of $17 per person to dine at Ocean Blue even as part of the dining package, which we paid prior to our cruise. When we arrived for dinner at Ocean Blue, the hostess informs us that there is another upcharge of $39.99 per person for the seafood extravaganza on the menu, $79.98 for the two of us. In the FAQ section of the NCL website, it clearly states, “ARE ANY MENU ITEMS EXCLUDED FROM SPECIALTY DINING PACKAGES? NO, ALL ITEMS LISTED ON THE MENUS ARE INCLUDED IN THE PACKAGE.” Yes, it was on the menu, but nowhere does it state that you have to pay another upcharge for that menu item. Very, very deceptive. It is obvious that NCL did not read our letters because we stated that we would never again go on a voyage with Norwegian Cruise Line after this disastrous experience. So, giving us a cruise credit for a future cruise (which has to be taken within one year of their correspondence) is moot. Spend a month or two perusing the comments on Norwegian Cruise Line’s Facebook page, Cruise Critic, and other online cruise and consumer review sites, and you will note that there are scores and scores of folks that have expressed their total disappointment, dissatisfaction, and encounters with arrogant Norwegian Cruise Line staff, who will never again cruise with Norwegian. Remember, ***** and I were tried to get a reply from Norwegian Cruise Line for 61 days to our certified letters, many telephone calls, and Facebook messages. After three quarters of century on this planet, ***** and I can tell you, unequivocally, that we have never experienced a company as Norwegian Cruise Line, which exhibits sheer negligence, fosters cons to a fault, misleads, misguides, and prevaricates to a Pinocchio-like personification. If you are contemplating taking a cruise with Norwegian Cruise Line, please, please, please think again. If you do, you may not experience what *****, I, and many, many folks have experienced with NCL. But seeing how a large number of passengers were treated when a situation did arise, why would you bother? I guess the word I’m looking for is BOYCOTT.”
